Bach Flower Remedies
Dr Edward Bach was a Physician and Homeopath, who spent his life searching for
the purest methods of healing. He believed that attitude of mind plays a vital
role in maintaining health and in recovering from illness. When he died in
1936, he had developed a complete system of 38 flower remedies, prepared from
the flowers of wild plants, trees and bushes.
Each remedy is for a specific emotional or mental state. The best known Bach
Flower is Rescue Remedy. This is a combination of five remedies formulated for
challenging situations. The function of the remedies is to restore balance to
the mind and therefore helping to heal the body.
Dr Bach divided the remedies into 7 groups, representing fundamental conflicts
which stop us from being true to ourselves:-
-
Fear
-
Uncertainty
-
Insufficient interest in present circumstances
-
Loneliness
-
Over sensitivity to ideas and influences
-
Despondency and despair
-
Over care for the welfare of others.

He also identified seven areas of conflict, which interfere with our health and
so he defined the stages of healing as Peace, Hope, Joy, Faith, Certainty,
Wisdom and Love.
